Child Care Philosophy at Central Valley:
At Central Valley Child Care our work with children is based on the following beliefs:
* Positive interactions and relationships with adults provide a critical foundation for successful learning and growth
* Social-emotional competence is important for relationship building and future success in school
* Constructive, purposeful play supports essential learning and social-emotional competence
* Our classroom environment affects the type and quality of learning interactions
* Teacher-family partnerships promote the child's development and learning
Child care is necessary to support working families and should be an important of your child's development. The environment must be safe, supportive, based on appropriate expectations and goals, and staffed by qualified people who genuinely care about your child.
Our Curriculum:
* We base our learning activities on the Creative Curriculum in regard to classroom design, set up, teacher planning and materials.
* Our Classroom Daily Schedule is an important part of how children know what to expect. We follow the same schedule each day.
* Curriculum Plans and Classroom Daily Schedule are posted on the information board above children's cubbies.
* Curriculum Activities are planned according to weekly themes that capture the children's interest and encourage their participation in constructive play and learning activities.
* Areas of learning that we explore each week are art, science, sensory, language, pre-reading & writing skills, music & movement. Woven into each day is the very important work of learning to share space and materials with friends and managing big emotions.
* Outside play is an important part of our day: Our Preschoolers are outside 3 times per day- our partially covered play area helps us enjoy the outdoors even in the rain!
